Privacy Policy for Bite
Last updated: June 5, 2026
This page is the app-specific privacy policy for the mobile app Bite. Doui Lab ("we") sets out the following policy regarding the handling of user-related information in this app.
1. Information we may store or process
The app may store selected or captured photos, meal records, restaurant name, address or area, price, menu/message, taste notes, display settings, search usage, purchase state, ad state, place lookup cache, and region outline cache on the device.
Photo capture time and location data, or current location allowed by the user, may be used to infer restaurant candidates and regional display.
2. Purpose of use
The stored or processed information is used to create cards, save meal records, show restaurant candidates, display regional outlines, manage search credits, verify purchase state, show ads, respond to inquiries, investigate issues, and improve the app.
3. Local storage
The core meal records and settings are stored on the device. The app does not require login and is not designed around syncing meal records to an external server. Uninstalling the app removes app data from the device side.
4. Location and external services
To show restaurant candidates and regional context, the app may send requests containing approximate location information to external services such as Supabase Edge Functions operated by Doui Lab, Google Places API, and OpenStreetMap / Overpass API. The app is not designed to upload the photo image itself for place search.
5. Third-party services
This app may use third-party services such as Apple App Store, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, Supabase, Google Places API, and OpenStreetMap / Overpass API. These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.
6. Ads and purchases
Ads may be displayed via AdMob during free use. Search credit purchases and purchase restoration are verified through Apple App Store and RevenueCat. For billing, refunds, and official purchase history handling, please use Apple App Store Support.
7. Photo library
The app may request photo library access to use photos selected by the user for card creation and to save generated card images to the photo library.
8. Revisions
This policy may be updated when necessary. If there is a material change, it will be announced on this page.
